On Being cGMP/HACCP COMPLIANT cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) Being cGMP compliant is longer a voluntary standard for companies in our industry to compy with but will be required under the emerging FDA guidelines for cGMP standard, and CBN™ fully supports this uniform standard. One particular product tested was our Cordyceps, which is one of the hardest of raw materials to liquid process, due to the fact that the cellular makeup of all mushroom/fungi is of the same composition as that for crab and lobster shells, where only super-critical processing will break up the material to release the sought for constituents. In a head-to-head lab test in which our TincTract® Cordyceps was compared to a pharmaceutical based 50:1 HPG (High Pressure Gas) extraction processed Cordyceps product, and on a gram for gram of raw material extracted potential the TincTract® processed Cordyceps tested over 7 times higher for 12 of 13 marker compounds being tested for than did the 50:1 HPG extracted product did. What makes this especially impressive is that much smaller amounts of the raw material were required for the TincTract® processed Cordyceps as compared to the much higher amounts of raw material required for the 50"1 HPG extracted Cordyceps product. Shortly after LoR. Caarl Robinson had originated and co-developed the 1st generation TincTract® process in 1982 he was approached by a respected and well known midwife to formulate a calcium-rich liquid herbal formula from liquid herbs made from the TincTract® process. Through the years this midwife had dealt with cases in which pregnant women would have low blood calcium levels (even after their taking mega doses of differing calcium supplements), and each succeeding generation was showing this problem more so than the prior generation they had come from, and she intuitively felt that a calcium-rich poly-constituent based TincTract® based liquid herbal formulation might correct the problem. Mr. Robinson formulated a calcium-rich TincTract® herbal formula where it was used on a pregnant woman exhibiting seriously low blood calcium levels. After taking the formula for one week (with no other changes in diet, fluid intake, activity, etc.) this woman had her blood calcium levels checked... and they were at the top end of where they were supposed to be! She took this TincTract® formula throughout the rest of her pregnancy and blood calcium levels remained where they were supposed to be. Over the following years, this and other midwives throughout the country noted the same results when a calcium-rich TincTract® liquid herbal formula was taken by pregnant women under their care. This original formula became the basis for what would be our first multiplex formulated liquid TincTract® herbal formula – Herbal Minerals™ Eventually Mr. Robinson and his friend and colleague, Steven H. Independent 3rd Party Analysis
The first involved a thorough independent 3rd party lab analysis of one of the hardest of all ingredients to liquid process, cordyceps, wherein that test pitted our TincTract® cordyceps sample against a 50:1 High Pressure Gas extraction processed cordyceps sample to ascertain which process possessed the most gram-for-gram processed extraction efficiency. The TincTract® sample of cordyceps ascertained that the TincTract® extractive efficiency was 5 to 7 times greater than the 50:1 HPG extractive efficiency for 12 of 13 marker compounds tested for. Clinical/Pilot Trials
The second involved two clinical pilot trials. The first was at the largest asthma & allergy clinic in the United States who ran clinical pilot studies on a product we private manufacture for an account wherein our samples were tested against another company's product made from the same raw ingredient. Though both product types showed a rapid response in 80+% of the subjects, the TincTract® did so at 1/2 the dosage levels of the competitor's product, along with the fact that the TincTract® process uses 7 times less raw materail for making its product than the competitor's product used. The second was a series of pilot studies done by a well known stress & pain relief clinic located in the American southwest where they did trials for our joint & pain relief formula and our respiratory formulas. The pilot study for the joint & pain relief formula showed an 87% positive response to the product, and the study for the respiratory formulas showed similar results both among clinic personnel and the individuals who participated in the follow-up study. Other companies spend innordinate amounts of time focusing on what specific this or that they extract from an herb, especially those of the 'Standardized' potency guaranteed ilk, but seldom if ever do they even ask, "What is the state of this or that constituent that has been extracted." Chemicals, gases and most solvents (which includes alcohol) all have a denaturing and/or inert rendering effect on a botanical's extracted compounds, sometimes even complexifying with those compounds into something not intended for consumption. Some of these effects are so profound that either the compound does not work as assumed, or to get an appreciable level of efficacy, much more has to be consumed to get an effect, what biochemists term, "forcing a metabolic pathway."
